Built between 1982 and 1985, the 70,000 square foot facility on the
Fircrest campus in North Seattle provides high quality laboratory space for the
Department of Health. Three Department of Health laboratory offices perform
clinical / environmental testing, and investigative science at the site. Our
work ranges from testing for communicable disease and genetic disorders to
trace level environmental chemical and radiation measurements. Parts of the
building are used for community meetings and programs during the day and after
hours. The laboratory also hosts training programs for both public and private
sector health and laboratory profesionals.

Turn left into W.R. Giedt Public Health Laboratories, which is the second open
driveway on the left.

The laboratory is approximately 3 miles north of the Northgate shopping
center.
