HIV Prevention Planning

HIV Prevention Community Planning is designed by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to increase community involvement in HIV prevention planning, improve the scientific basis on which prevention programs are designed and selected, and target HIV prevention resources to those communities at highest risk for HIV transmission and/or acquisition. More than 100 state residents are involved in HIV Prevention Community Planning through participation on one of the six Regional HIV Prevention Planning Groups (RPGs) and/or the State HIV Prevention Planning Group (SPG). Each planning group is responsible for undertaking a rigorous, CDC-defined planning process to produce a multi-year Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan. These plans guide the use of federal, state, and other resources for HIV prevention in Washington State. This website provides information and records on the work of the SPG.
