As a statewide partner in the prevention of HIV disease, the mission of the Office of HIV Prevention and Education Services is to provide leadership and support for effective HIV prevention, planning, education and intervention services. We can achieve that mission only by being open to change, providing accurate information, and striving for excellence in our employees, programs and services. We seek the active involvement of public and private agencies, providers, consumers, community-based organizations, and educational and academic institutions as partners in the challenge. As part of our mission we operate the Washington State HIV/AIDS Clearinghouse as mandated by state law to house updated, medically correct materials related to HIV transmission, prevention and education. The Clearinghouse operates a toll-free HIV/AIDS line. Callers can obtain current AIDS statistics for Washington State by calling 800-272-AIDS and listening to the menu of options. This line also functions as a message line and is staffed during business hours. Callers with questions can leave a message and staff will return their call |
