Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

Genital HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Most people who become infected with HPV will not have any symptoms and the infection will clear up on its own. Some types of HPV can lead to cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina, anus, or penis. HPV can also cause genital warts.
