Be socially active with friends and family. Be involved with your community. Depression is not an inevitable result of aging, but in older adults is often caused by social isolation.
  • Your mental health and well-being are as important as your physical health!

  • Older men and women with strong ties to friends, relatives and the community have a lower risk of early death from all causes, including heart disease, accidents and suicide.

  • If you or someone you know is depressed or stressed, seek help.

  • Have fun and do things that make you feel useful. Your community needs you! Consider volunteering.
