Key Accomplishments

Washington State Genetics Education Plan

Together with the Genetics Education Steering Committee, we outlined what several target audiences should know about genetics.

Genetics Education Project for Primary Care Providers:  Genetics & Your Practice

Through a partnership with the March of Dimes and funding from the Health Resources & Services Administration, this training was developed for health and social service providers.  Its goal is to teach providers more about genetics so that they can help others understand genetics and get the services they need.

The Partner’s Forum:  A Washington State Model for Ensuring Access to Quality Services in Managed Care

Through funding from the Health Resources & Services Administration, a “think tank” of people were brought together to talk about how to incorporate genetic services into managed care plans.

Critical Elements of Genetic Counseling & Evaluation

Genetic counseling guidelines for over 30 genetic conditions have been developed by genetic service providers in Washington.
