Maternal and Infant HealthWhat does Maternal and Infant Health (MIH) do?
MIH accomplishes its work in four major areasMIH gathers data about characteristics of pregnant and postpartum women, services they use and services that would be helpful. Assessment activities enable health care professionals and community partners to understand the needs of women and infants, plan programs and services, and develop policies to promote maternal and infant health. MIH programs educate, update, and serve as resources for health care professionals on a variety of topics to improve quality of care for women and infants.
