  • Skin infections and MRSA
    Infections from antibiotic-resistant staph --called MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) -- have been in the news recently. The Department of Health has information about MRSA and how you can prevent its spread. The page also contains a link to a list of resources about MRSA. A Scientific Expert Panel was convened in December 2007 to discuss the most effective strategies for monitoring and preventing all antibiotic resistant infections, including MRSA.  A report was released in January documenting the panel's recommendations.
