About Washington Environmental Public Tracking Network

The Washington Environmental Public Health Tracking Network (WTN) is a project funded by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to improve the state of information concerning environmental contaminants, human exposure to hazards, and potentially related health outcomes in Washington State. WTN is developing infrastructure to integrate environmental and public health information systems and to improve access to information from those systems. WTN also aims to bring together a network of stakeholders who can use information from these systems to guide public health action.

WTN is building infrastructure to connect information systems that provide environmental data, exposure data, and health outcome data. Specifically, WTN is working to enhance Washington Department of Health (DOH) surveillance systems, link to other agencies' data, create tools for analysis and data use, and build partnerships for disseminating information.
