Drinking Water State Revolving Fund
Low Interest Loans for Public Water Systems
Draft Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Intended Use
Plan (IUP) available for public review and comment
The Washington State Department of
Health and the Washington State Public Works Board are pleased
to announce the availability of the
“Drinking Water
State Revolving Fund Draft Intended Use Plan for the
Thirteenth Year Federal Capitalization Grant” (PDF 99 KB) for review and
comment. The DWSRF is a federal/state partnership program whose
purpose is to:
-
provide loans to public water systems for
capital improvements aimed at increasing public health
protection and,
-
provide a source of funds for other Safe
Drinking Water Act activities.
This draft DWSRF IUP is the
state’s request for set-aside and project loan funds. It
provides information on:
-
the status of the state’s DWSRF program,
-
how the state will process and allocate approximately $37
million in the Project Fund portion of the DWSRF,
-
the criteria
used in determining capital project loan eligibility and
prioritization, and
-
the draft prioritized project list.
The
draft DWSRF IUP is available through the link above, or at the Washington State Law
Library. You may also request a copy by calling 1-800-521-0323.
There will be a 30-day public comment period. Please send
comments by Monday, October 27, 2008 to:

Arsenic
Arsenic
treatment projects are considered high priority for DWSRF
consideration. Many water systems exceeding the arsenic

appropriate treatment. See the
2003 special edition of
