Mercury

Mercury is found in schools in a number of sources and places, from science labs and classrooms, to the nurses’ office, and playing fields.  Because children are more vulnerable to the health effects from mercury exposure, special care must be taken to prevent mercury spills, to reduce the use of mercury-containing products, and to properly dispose of such products.  This Web site outlines the problems that mercury can cause in schools and lists practical steps that can be taken to reduce mercury in school.
