Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD)

The Office of Radiation Protection is a member of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Director's, Inc. and hosted the CRCPD's National Conference on Radiation Control in 1977 (Seattle) and 1997 (Tacoma) and 2007 (Spokane).

Copies of the Proceedings of the National Conference on Radiation Control are available from the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD).

The CRCPD is the national organization which brings together the radiation protection programs in all 50 states. It is an effective voice for the states when national and international issues are discussed; its committees are responsible for a variety of public health, worker, and environmental protection advances; and it and its committees prepare the Suggested State Regulations for Control of Radiation, a document available to all the states as the basis for individual state regulations. Its national meetings are attended by representatives from all the state and federal radiation agencies, equipment manufacturers, and most of the major users of radiation in the country.

Annually, the CRCPD, in cooperation with the Center for Devices and Radiological Health, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and the United States Department of Energy, conducts a national meeting for the purpose of encouraging the professional interchange of ideas to solve mutual radiation protection problems among state, local, and federal agencies, professional radiation protection societies, and nuclear industries.
