    1. 65 page Booklet: "Questions and Answers About EMF, Electric and Magnetic Fields Associated with the Use of Electric Power"---June 2002, published by National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and U.S. Department of Energy. Free.
    2. Microwave Ovens -- our on-line version of HHS Pub FDA 86-8120. Discusses radiation safety for these devices using non-ionizing radiation.
  • Ionizing Radiation (X-rays)

  1. Poster: "Pregnant? Or Think you Might Be? Tell your Doctor before getting an X-ray or prescription."  HHS Publication FDA 78-1045. Free

  2. Brochure: "X-Rays: Get the Picture on Protection."  HHS Publication FDA 80-8088.  Provides information and allows a way of keeping track of your X-ray examinations.  Free.

  3. Brochure: "X-Rays, Pregnancy and You."  HHS Publication FDA 79-8087.  Provides information about patients who may be pregnant while getting diagnostic X-ray exams.  Free.

  4. Brochure: "Get the Picture on Dental X-Rays."  HHS Pub FDA 80-8111.  Shows how X-rays are used in dentistry and discusses their safety.  Includes X-ray exam record card.  Free

  5. List of qualified medical physicists who perform shielding calculations for new or modified X-ray facilities (diagnostic and therapeutic).  Free.
