To work as a Clandestine Drug Lab (CDL) Worker, CDL Supervisor, or CDL Contractor cleaning up contaminated properties in Washington state, an individual must obtain and maintain certification through the Department of Health Clandestine Drug Lab Program.

Fees for certification application and renewals are as follows:

  Worker Certification (2-yr)

$100 Initial
& Renewal

  Supervisor Certification (2-yr)

$200 Initial
& Renewal

  Contractor Certification (1-yr)

$1125 Initial & Renewal

  Training Provider Certification  (2-yr)

$1000 Initial $750 Renewal

The required 2-day certification course for CDL Workers and the additional 1-day CDL Supervisors course provides information on:

  • Property assessment

  • Environmental sampling

  • Work plan development
