Migrant Farmworker Housing (MFH)

Construction:

The Migrant Farmworker Housing Program has building services for those who want to develop or rehabilitate migrant farmworker housing facilities.

The following services are provided through the DOH’s Construction Review Services (CRS) and use the Temporary Worker Housing (TWH) Construction Standards, WAC 246-359.  Services available:

  • Consultation

  • Plan Review

  • Building Permit

  • Inspection

  • Final Approval

Migrant farmworker housing is a permitted use on land zoned for agriculture.  The builder has the option of using the International Building Code (IBC) or the TWH Construction Standards for development or rehabilitation of the housing facilities.  If you choose to use IBC, you will need to go through your local building department.  If you choose to use TWH Construction Standards, you will need to go through the DOH’s CRS.

For more information about the TWH construction process, call, email, write the department, stop by our office, or click the link below.
