Licensing Requirements:

If you are providing or planning to provide residential facilities to people, you may need a Residential Treatment Facility license from the State Department of Health.

There are two things required prior to licensing:

  • Approval must be obtained from Construction Review Services (CRS) for whatever building you plan to use for the facility you wish to license.  Information about CRS requirements may be obtained by calling (360) 236-2944 or visiting their website at. Construction Review Section (CRS).
  • A Public Health Advisor or a Registered Nurse will inspect the facility to determine compliance with the rules prior to initial licensing.
