Transient Accommodations:
 

Chapter 70.62 RCW  Transient Accommodations - Licensing - Inspections
This chapter is to provide for the development, establishment, and enforcement of standards for the maintenance and operation of transient accommodations through a licensing program to promote the protection of the health and safety of individuals using such accommodations in this state.

 

Chapter 246-360 WAC  Regulations for Transient Accommodations
This chapter implements chapter 70.62 RCW.  This chapter applies to facilities offering three or more lodging units to guests for periods of less than one month.

 

Transient Accommodations Resource Book
This book contains the first update to the Washington Administrative Code (WAC's) for Transient Accommodations (TAs) in many years.  The Department of Health (DOH) has created this Resource Book to help everyone better understand the rules and to reduce confusion.  Included in the book are:

Residential Care Services:
 

Chapter 71.12 RCW  Private Establishments
This chapter, "establishment" and "institution" mean and include every private or county or municipal hospital, including public hospital districts, sanitarium, home, or other place receiving or caring for any mentally ill, mentally incompetent person, or chemically dependent person.

 

Chapter 246-337 WAC  Residential Treatment Facility
This chapter sets the minimum health and safety standards for licensure and operations of twenty-four hour private, county or municipal residential treatment facilities (RTF) providing health care services to persons with mental disorders or substance abuse.

 
Temporary Worker Housing:
 

Chapter 70.114A RCW  Temporary Worker Housing - Health and Safety Regulation
This chapter is to encourage the development of temporary and permanent housing for workers that is safe and sanitary by establishing a clear and concise set of regulations for temporary housing, establishing a streamlined permitting and administrative process that will be locally administered and encourage the development of such housing; and by providing technical assistance to organizations or individuals interested in the development of work housing.

 

Chapter 246-358 WAC  Temporary Worker Housing
This chapter is adopted by the Washington State Department of Health to implement the provisions of chapter 70.114A RCW and establish minimum health and safety requirements for temporary worker housing.

 

Chapter 246-361 WAC Cherry Harvest Camps
This chapter is adopted by the Washington State Department of Health to implement the provisions of chapter 70.114A RCW and establish minimum health and safety requirements for cherry harvest camps.

 

Chapter 246-359 WAC Temporary Worker Housing Construction Standard
This chapter is
to provide minimum requirements to safeguard the health and general welfare of occupants of temporary worker housing by regulating and controlling the design, construction, materials, location and maintenance of all buildings and structures within the authority of chapter 246-358 WAC.
