AHLS: Advanced Hazmat Life Support: This course trains
participants through didactic instruction and group interactive case
studies to: Demonstrate rapid assessment of hazmat patients, recognize
toxic syndromes, demonstrate the ability to medically manage hazmat
patients, apply the poisoning treatment paradigm and identify and

AMLS: Advanced Medical Life Support:
This course provides an
in-depth, scenario-based study of adult medical emergencies commonly
encountered in the prehospital environment. It addresses the most
common medical complaints and offers a "think-outside-the-box" method of
assessing and managing a medical crisis.
APLS: Advanced Pediatric Life Support: A new assessment-based
course sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics addressing
pediatric resuscitation. The course will be offered to physicians and
nurses, respiratory therapists and ALS prehospital providers who are
faced with managing the care of a critically ill neonate, infant, child

ATLS: Advanced Trauma Life Support: An advanced course on
managing a broad spectrum of trauma care. This course is for physicians.
Physician Assistants and Nurses who work in acute emergency settings may

BTLS: Basic Trauma Life Support: Course can be tailored to
either the basic or advanced EMT. It stresses hands-on skills training
with emphasis on patient assessment and the recognition of the

CCEMTP: Critical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program:
This course is designed to prepare paramedics and nurses to function as
members of a critical care transport team in an effort to bridge the gap
between pre-hospital and hospital settings. The result is a specialized
care provider that has an understanding of both aspects of patient care,
and uses the understanding to provide the highest level of care to
critical patients during transport. Participants will gain an
understanding of the special needs of critical patients during
transport, become familiar with the critical care procedures, equipment,
and develop the skills necessary to maintain the stability of the

CTC: Critical Trauma Care: Developed by Montana Emergency
Medical Services Association for EMT-Bs who have at least one year of
experience. It is a course on a multi-systems approach to the
assessment, stabilization and transportation of the trauma patient. West

ENPC: Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course: This
Emergency Nurses Association provides core-level pediatric knowledge and

GEMS: Geriatric Education For EMS: This course is designed to
address all of the special needs of the older population, including the
geriatric objectives as identified in the EMT-Basic, Intermediate, and
Paramedic National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program: This course has
been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of
the newborn. The causes, prevention, and management of mild to
severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so that health
professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation.

PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support: A course focusing on
pediatric resuscitation. PALS was developed by the American Heart
Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. It is oriented

PHTLS: Prehospital Trauma Life Support: There are two PHTLS
courses; one for the advanced EMT (Intermediate and Paramedic) and one
for the basic EMT. Both courses are developed by the Prehospital Trauma
Life Support Committee of the National Association of Emergency Medical
Technicians in cooperation with the Committee on Trauma of the American
College of Surgeons. The course is an in-depth explanation of the
prehospital aspects of trauma care, with emphasis placed on rapid
resuscitation of the patient and transfer to the hospital. State

PEPP: Pediatric Education For Prehospital Professionals: also known as Emergency
Medical Services for Children (EMS-C). Developed by Washington EMS-C,
this course is designed to prepare prehospital providers in assessment

PPC: Pediatric Prehospital Care:
This course provides an
in-depth, scenario-based study of the prehospital care of injured and
ill children and is designed as true continuing education for
professionals interested in enhancing their pediatric assessment and
treatment skills. Rather than simply reviewing basic skills, this course
goes beyond the traditional DOT material, making it useful for
