What's New

The Department of Health has a new manager for Transient Accommodations Program.  The new Resource Book is available for those who have not received a copy.  Initiative 901 information available to assist you with enforcement questions.

The Department of Health created the Resource Book to help everyone better understand the rules and to reduce confusion.

Changes to Fees for FSL Programs  DOH Pub #505-020

The Department of Health is required by law to charge fees sufficient to cover the full cost of program operations. The programs are entirely supported through fees, and have no other funding sources.   Fee studies were conducted to determine if current fees were sufficient to cover program costs. The Department determined an increase of 2.82% (within Initiative 601 limits) was needed. Initiative 601 (I-601) defines the spending limits.

State Board of Health (SBOH) Approves Lodging Rules for Motels, Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts, Resorts, Etc.  DOH Pub #505-013
The revised TA rules were adopted by the SBOH in September.  The rules, developed jointly by the Department of Health and Board staff over a three-year period, are the result of intensive work with the regulated community.

Proposed Changes to Standards for Transient Accommodations  DOH Pub #505-011
The State Board of Health (SBOH) has authority to adopt rules or public health standards for Transient Accommodations.  The Department of Health (DOH) is responsible for developing the rules for the SBOH's consideration, and administering and enforcing the Standards.  The revised regulations becomes effective April 1, 2005.
